Political Advertising Policy
Draft Notice
This Political Advertising Policy is Draft v0.1 for Founder Review and Legal Review. It is Not Attorney Reviewed, Not Board Approved, and Not Published. It is not legal advice and is subject to applicable law and attorney verification.
Purpose
This policy establishes proposed governance expectations for public political advertising, paid communications, sponsorship disclosures, and review controls associated with Florida Principles PAC.
Scope
This policy applies to PAC-sponsored public advertising, boosted posts, promoted content, digital ads, mailers, scripts, and other paid political communications. It does not itself determine legal disclaimer wording, reporting obligations, contribution rules, or platform requirements.
Definitions
- Political advertising: Paid or sponsored public communication connected to the PAC's political, civic, endorsement, or issue activity.
- Disclaimer: Required or approved attribution, sponsorship, or authorization language.
- Placement record: Documentation of audience, date, cost, vendor, content, and approval status.
Policy Statements
Political advertising should be truthful, source-aware, internally approved, and consistent with PAC governance. Advertising should not claim endorsements, board approval, candidate positions, or legal compliance unless verified.
All legal disclaimers, reporting treatment, targeting limits, and platform compliance requirements are subject to applicable law and attorney verification.
The PAC should preserve clear separation between PoliticalPedia civic information and persuasive PAC advertising.
Responsibilities
The Founder or authorized officer approves advertising concepts before publication. Financial and treasury owners review spending and records. Legal review is required for disclaimer language and compliance-sensitive content.
User Rights and Responsibilities
Members of the public may ask about sponsorship, corrections, or public records related to PAC advertising through the contact page.
Prohibited Conduct
Advertising must not knowingly include false claims, fabricated citations, unauthorized candidate endorsements, undisclosed synthetic impersonation, harassment, or illegal targeting. Specific legal boundaries require attorney verification.
Review and Enforcement
Advertising should be reviewed before placement and retained after publication. Material errors should be corrected or withdrawn when appropriate.
Corrections or Appeals Process
Corrections requests should identify the ad, platform, date, claim, and supporting evidence. The PAC should document review and response.
Records and Retention
Placement records, creative files, approvals, invoices, disclaimers, targeting settings, and correction records should be retained subject to financial governance and applicable law.
