Corrections Policy
Draft Notice
This Corrections Policy is Draft v0.1 for Founder Review and Legal Review. It is Not Attorney Reviewed, Not Board Approved, and Not Published. It is not legal advice and is subject to applicable law and attorney verification.
Purpose
This policy establishes proposed standards for receiving, reviewing, correcting, documenting, and publishing corrections for Florida Principles PAC public content.
Scope
This policy applies to PAC website pages, public documents, PoliticalPedia civic-information pages, public statements, endorsement materials, financial-publication summaries, and other PAC-controlled public content.
Definitions
- Correction: A change made to address an error in public content.
- Material error: An error that could reasonably affect public understanding, trust, attribution, status, or decision context.
- Clarification: A change that improves precision without changing the underlying fact.
Policy Statements
The PAC should correct known material errors promptly after review. Corrections should distinguish factual errors, broken links, outdated information, typographical issues, source gaps, and disputed interpretations.
The PAC should not silently revise material public records where a correction note is appropriate. Legal, compliance, or safety-sensitive corrections require escalation.
Responsibilities
The content owner reviews routine corrections. The Founder or designated owner reviews material corrections. Technical owners implement changes and preserve revision records.
User Rights and Responsibilities
Users may report suspected errors and should include the page, claim, supporting source, and requested correction.
Prohibited Conduct
Correction channels must not be used for harassment, spam, impersonation, or demands to suppress accurate public information.
Review and Enforcement
Reports should be triaged, assigned, reviewed against sources, resolved, and documented. The PAC may decline unsupported or bad-faith requests.
Corrections or Appeals Process
A requester may ask for additional review if the initial response is incomplete. Appeals should include new evidence or explain the unresolved issue.
Records and Retention
Correction requests, evidence, decisions, publication changes, and revision notes should be retained as publication governance records.
