This Moderation Policy is Draft v0.1 for Founder Review and Legal Review. It is Not Attorney Reviewed, Not Board Approved, and Not Published. It is not legal advice and is subject to applicable law and attorney verification.

Purpose

This policy describes proposed moderation standards for PAC-administered public, volunteer, event, comment, and digital participation spaces.

Scope

This policy applies when the PAC reviews user content or participant conduct in PAC-controlled or PAC-administered spaces. It does not obligate the PAC to moderate third-party spaces it does not control.

Definitions

• Moderation: Review or action taken to enforce published participation standards.
• Escalation: Referral of an issue for Founder, legal, safety, compliance, or governance review.
• Appeal: A request for review of a moderation action.

Policy Statements

Moderation should be consistent, documented for material actions, and tied to published standards. The PAC may prioritize safety, privacy, legal risk, operational integrity, and relevance.

Moderation decisions should distinguish criticism, disagreement, and good-faith error from harassment, disruption, deception, and unlawful content.

Responsibilities

Moderators apply standards and document material decisions. The Founder or designated owner handles escalations and approves final standards. Technical owners maintain moderation controls where applicable.

User Rights and Responsibilities

Users may request review of moderation actions and should cooperate with requests for information. Users remain responsible for their own submissions and conduct.

Prohibited Conduct

Moderation may address threats, harassment, spam, doxing, impersonation, malware, unlawful content, private-data exposure, repeated disruption, and evasion of restrictions.

Review and Enforcement

Actions may include no action, guidance, warning, content removal, comment closure, temporary restriction, permanent restriction, event removal, or referral.

Corrections or Appeals Process

Appeals should identify the action, content or event, date, and explanation. The PAC should respond when feasible and document the result.

Records and Retention

Material moderation records, appeals, safety reports, and escalations should be retained with appropriate access controls.
